Is it okay to watch a sunset during the winter, near spring!?
Are sunsets still visible pretty well during the winter and if it's a little rainy? I want to take my girlfriend up to the top of this mountain nearby that is said to have an amazing view of the landscape and great sunsets. Would it be worth it even though it's still winter, but almost spring?
The only thing you have to be concerned about regarding whether winter sunsets are as nice as summer ones is that the sun sets about 23.5 degrees further south in the winter and, while a sunset might be visible to the horizon in summer, the lower path might end up having it set over a land mass that prevents it from being visible all the way to the horizon.
Also, sunset in winter is faster than sunset in summer. So, while it certainly can be as spectacular, it doesn't last nearly as long.
