Landscaping Rentals

Can I deduct snow removal, landscaping, etc as a business expense in my rental property if I do it myself?

no, unless you also have a landscaping company in your name which you are paying but then that company will have to pay you and declare income (from the rental) and you will then have to declare the income on your personal taxes so it all runs in a big circle and uncle sam will be getting his money one way or another. i'm sure your accountant can explain this to you and charge you for the extra forms for your landscaping company. but do feel free to deduct salt, fertilizer, flowers etc, and if there is any left over you can use it at your own home
