Can I "self level" sand?
I am using a limestone screening (which is like sand) to support a 24" x 24" stone for a landscape design. I'm not sure I can dig a perfectly deep 2 - 3" hole and I want it to be level. If I dig a hole and then toss the limestone sand in there, can I fill it with water and then let the water slowly drain? I'm thinking that the gravity of the water will automatically level the sand in the hole...
Use a 24" builder's level as a screed for the sand. The water will probably not level the sand.
