Landscaping Flyers Designs

Don't know where to start to open landscape company? please help!!?

I am located in Palatine IL and am very excited to start a new faze in my carrier. My friend and I want to open a lawn care business, starting in residential and eventually graduate into commercial. I do not know the first step about starting this type of business and whats required (other then the equipment). Can you help me out or point us in the right direction? I'm going to incorporate a business and make logo's, flyer's, and cards I also have a friend who will be setting up our website.

I do not know a thing about pricing, insurance requirements, pay for FTE's (full time employees) or what I actually need to open the door. This will be a home based business. The only experience we have is cutting lawns growing up and maintaining our family and our own lawn's and garden's today.

Are there any short certification programs I can do like landscape design? can anyone advise please?

Thanks a million!

my e-mail is dfrost227@yahoo.com

You can take classes at most colleges in horticulture and landscape design. To start your business you'll need to check with your cities Business License/Permit department to see what is required by them besides the fee. You'll also need to get insurance so if you damage something at someones house, you won't get sued.
As for pricing...do some research and see what the going price for front and back, full service etc is in your area. You may need to call some other lawn services as a "potential client" and ask their prices.
Once you've got your ducks in a row, then you start to advertise and pass out flyers or business cards.
