Advice on expanding business?
Ok heres the set up i have a business thats a landscape gardening. But with winter around the corner i need other ideas. So i am putting my PC skills to use and going to repair PC's and make websites. The only thing is can i somehow include this in my business as a division of my current one or do i need to make a completely new business.
Please note that i stay in Scotland and i have to abide by the laws of the country
Short Answer: You can just operate as the same business.
Long Answer: You can absolutely operate as the same business! Sole traders have always been able to undertake any commercial activity they like. The Companies Act 2006 also allowed any limited liability (ltd) or public company (plc) to undertake any commercial activity they like (regardless of any restriction of activities in their Memorandum of Association, whether new or preexisting).
So basically all UK companies can now sell anything (assuming its not illegal) and provide any services (again, assuming they're not illegal) they like.
